DESCRIPTION
Only 2,5 – 3 hours from Johannesburg, in the North West Province, lies the Pilanesberg National Park. As a transitional zone between the arid dryness of the Kalahari and the wet Lowveld vegetation, the Pilanesberg encompasses grassy plains, rocky outcrops, wooded valleys and some breath-taking dams. It’s unique placement – in a volcanic crater created over 12 million years ago from overflowing magma, and as a transitional zone – means that it is home to virtually all of the animal species native to Southern Africa, including the Big Five (elephant, lion, leopard, rhinoceros and buffalo), wild dog and more than 360 species of bird. Because of its relatively small size and because of its ecological richness, guests have an increased chance of experiencing the Big Five in their natural habitat.
This is the setting for the Tented Adventures Pilanesberg safari camp experience. Our passionate safari guides and camp hosts will host your unforgettable bush experience where – if you haven’t encountered enough wildlife on game drives – warthogs, banded mongooses and impala often come to visit the camp.
